Peep
Show
Site specific interactive installation,
2006
Juxtaposing concepts of analog and
digital optical imagery, Peep
Show includes
three live, independent camera feeds which
manipulates and projects the image of the audience
member above "peep holes" along a 18' fabricated
wall. As the user attempts to see
what is hidden behind the wall, an experiment
of social control and collaboration actually
takes place. When looking through the peep hole,
it's impossible to view the result projected
above forcing the patron to seek assistance from
another in the space so they may fully experience
the work.
Additional work from local artist Benjamin Entner
was included in the exhibition titled Side
Show on April 1st complete
with carnival music, popcorn and clowns creating
a fun, yet erie, environment in which the community
could openly participate. Art for people.
